About Us

We started life as a small family-run tack shop in Kent in 1996. As the internet became more popular, we decided in 2004 to complement our little shop with an online branch, and The Saddlery Shop was created.

By 2005, in addition to offering a range of traditional tack shop products, an experience with one of our own horses led us to identify a need to help people boot their barefoot horses with hoof boots.

In 2006, we made the move to the heart of Devon (where we still reside) to expand and focus fully on our online operation. We quickly became established as experts in the field of hoof boots and, over the years, have had a book published, and served for a time as a resident 'expert' for one of the well known monthly equine publications.

In 2017, we were incredibly proud to win the coveted BETA Internet Retailer of the Year Award.

To this day, we remain a family-run, customer-centric business and are now one of the longest-running, dedicated online saddlery shops in the UK.
