The Korsteel Flexi Mullen Mouth Eggbutt Snaffle Bit is a really good first bit for young horses.

The plastic is warm and reasonably flexible, which allows the horse to take a hold and get confidence in the bit. These bits are also good for horses that tend to avoid the contact, or come behind the bit.

In both cases the eggbutt flexi snaffle is usually a first step to encourage the horse to accept and take the bit, before moving onto a bit with more refinement in its action for greater rider to horse communication.
