This Shires Blue Sweet Iron Hollow Jointed Loose Ring bit can discourage fixing as it has much more movement in the horse's mouth. The hollow mouth is significantly lighter than those with a solid mouthpiece.

Blue sweet iron is an excellent material for the mouthpiece of bits, as it oxidises easily whch encourages the horse to salivate and assists in softness and acceptance of the bit.

The smaller sizes of this bit come with smaller rings to ensure the bit remains in proportion.

Mouthpiece thickness: 18mm.

Inside Ring Diameter: 4.5" - 5" with 50mm ring, 5.5" - 6" with 65mm rings
