The Shires Sweet Iron Hollow Mouth Eggbutt has fixed rings to prevent pinching, whilst the sweet iron mouthpiece encourages salivation. As this mouthpiece is hollow, it is very light compared to those with a solid mouthpiece.

Sweet iron is an excellent material for the mouthpiece of bits, as it oxidises easily whch encourages the horse to salivate and assists in softness and acceptance of the bit.

The smaller sizes of this bit come with smaller rings to ensure the bit remains in proportion.

Mouthpiece thickness: 21mm.

Inside Ring Diameter: 4.5" - 5" with 55mm ring, 5.5" - 6" with 70mm rings
