Loose ring flexible rubber snaffles are a good bit for mouthing young horses. Very bendable and warm to the touch, they will encourage a firm contact. Kind to the bars, lips and palette they can also be useful if a horse has a sore mouth and is finding a metal bit uncomfortable.

The Shires Loose Ring Flexible Rubber Snaffle is a thick bit and ideally should only be used on horses with enough space for the bit to sit comfortably in.
